(Inquire time)

What date is it today?

It's August thirteenth.(813)

Do you have the time?”

Can you tell me the time, please?
這句話跟 “Do you have time?”

Box 2Does "Do you have the time?" mean "What time is it?"?

Can you tell me the time, please? will be better.

This could be misunderstood. The usual question would be: Can you tell me the time, please? You could also say: Do you have the time? but unless it is clear that you are talking about what time it is,

there is the possibility of it meaning:

Do you have enough time to do something?

e. g. Do you have enough time to finish the paper?

Do you have the time
Do you have time? (
[
1. What time is it?
2. What is the time?

而想問人家「What time is it?,是有人使用「Do you have the time? Do you have the time?",確實是有"What time is it?"
